Sunrise 2015
Sunrise Hut Club Ride
Sunday 22 November, 2015 – Ruahine Forest Park

49 riders enjoyed a sunny but windy ride up the 7km DoC Sunrise Track. The trail conditions were tacky from the overnight rain providing good grip for the trip back down. Great to also have a bunch of Manawatu MTB club members attend, including their president – Good Times!
Check out all the excellent photos that one of the MMTBC members took
(Any enquiries about the photos to Chris:
Reminder **This is a one off, annual ride that only MTB Clubs can obtain DoC permits for (not individuals)**

Te Iringa Track
Saturday 21 March, 2015 – Kaimanawa Forest Park, Taupo

In the end only 5 members made this trip into the Kaimanawa Forest Park, just 90 minutes drive from Napier up SH5.
It was perfect conditions for the 12.5km ride into as far as the swing-bridge which took 2.5hrs (incl stops), then returned the same way taking just over 3 hours (though could easily be achieved in much quicker time !!!).

440Trip-Nov2014440 MTB Park & Skyline Gravity Park

Good times had by 14 Hawkes Bay Mountain Bike Club members for the gravity assisted social club trip weekend at Four Forty Mountain Bike Park (just south of Auckland) and Skyline Gravity Mountain Bike Park (Rotorua) over the weekend of 29-30 November, 2014.

Had 1 injury (a broken collarbone), but that was before the trip had officially even started.

Had great weather for the entire weekend, rode great trails and memorable times had by all who went on the trip.

Sunrise Hut Ride 2014 Sunrise2014
Sunday 23 November – Ruahine Forest Park

34 Club members went on this club ride up to Sunrise Hut, on the very popular walking track in the Ruahine Ranges, with a DoC permit (which has a limit of max 85 riders). The days weather was overcast, with no wind and average temperature of 17degC.

SunriseHut2014 Everyone parked in the long grass either side of the road at the first gate (which is approx. 2km before the actual track entrance).

It took between 1 – 2 hours to ascend up to the empty hut, with about an hour for a lunch break, relaxing & recovering – though it was all foggy up at 1280m asl, so no views like in previous years; before the very enjoyable 30 minute and 700m vertical descent back to the cars.

Rotorua ShuttlesRotorua Shuttles 2014
Friday 24 October, 2014 – Hawkes Bay Anniversary Day

113 club members attended this years annual trip to Rotorua, (biggest turn-out ever!!!) with all 3 of the Southstar shuttle buses booked out for our members to shuttle as much as they wanted, (the largest bus was booked by another group in the afternoon, so reduced to just 2 shuttle buses in the afternoon).

Thanks to Colin Goble for the photo. Loading for another run up the hill.

May, 2011
22 club members in 2 vans went and rode this recently opened 35km trail in the Whirinaki Forest Park, Southern Bay of Plenty. (approx 3 hours drive from Napier)

The first night entailed a night ride around the short Whirinaki Track, before staying in the local accommodation units. The following day shuttled the 1 hour drive into the start of the Moerangi Track, with local shuttle drivers taking our vans around to the end of the track.
